Volumetric weight

How to Calculate Chargeable Weight for Air Freight Shipments?

The volumetric (volume or dimensional) weight of the shipment is a
calculated value that reflects the density of cargo. Typically, a less dense item takes up more space than a denser item of the same weight.

The actual weight is the weight of your cargo.

The formula for calculating the volumetric weight for a shipment is to multiply the length by
the width and height (L x W x H) in inches to obtain the cubic inches, and the
total divide by 366 to obtain the dimensional weight in kilograms.

The Chargeable Weight is the greater amount of calculated volumetric weight and  the actual weight of a shipment.

 Examples of calculating Chargeable weight:

Actual Weight is Greater than Volume Weight.

The shipment
consists of 3 boxes/cartons, each weighing 50 kg, and dimension of each box 18
x 18 x 24 inches. Actual Gross Weight = 3 boxes x 50kg = 150 k
g

Volumetric Weight
in kg = (18 x18 x24) x 3 boxes / 366 = 64 kg

Since 150 kg is
greater than 64 kg, the Chargeable Weight will be 150 kg which, in this case,
is the Actual Weight.

– Volumetric Weight is greater than Actual Weight.

The shipment
consists of 3 boxes/cartons, each weighing 15 kg, and dimension of each box 18
x 18 x 24 inches. Actual Gross Weight = 3 boxes x 15 kg = 45 k
g

Volumetric Weight
in kg = (18 x18 x24) x 3 boxes / 366 = 64 kg

Since 64 kg is
greater than 45 kg, the Chargeable Weight will be 64 kgs which, in this case,
is the Volume Weight.

Volumetric charges for Dnipro LLC parcel services.

The additional charges for a given volumetric weight will depend on the country and type of delivery (air or sea).

Sending packages to the EU countries.

Air

If the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight by 1.5 times or more, the shipping price is calculated by volume weight.

Sea

When the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight by 1.5 times or more, the shipping price is calculated by volume weight.

Sending Packages to Ukraine.

Air

If the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight by 1.5 times or more, an additional charge applies. To calculate the additional charge: subtract the actual weight (kg) from the volumetric weight (kg), and the total multiply by $2.5.

Sea

If the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight by 2 times or more, an additional charge applies. To calculate the additional charge: subtract the actual weight (kg) from the volumetric weight (kg), and the total multiply by $1.

Sending packages to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Moldova.

Air

If the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight by 1.1 times or more, an additional charge occurs. The formula of additional charge for volumetric weight: from the volumetric weight (kg) subtract the actual weight (kg), the total multiply by $4.
